People have been crying out for Rooney to bag 30+ goals a season again, which is nice but its a much superior sight to see Rooney back as the free roaming not quite a #9, not quite a #10.Firing his way around the field, winning tackles, spreading the ball and getting some lovely goals in the process.
I have cherished watching Rooney back in this role the past few months for Manchester United. A nightmare for defenders and defensive midfielders alike... Floating between the 2 and even digging in to defend.
Rooney pushing forward and driving the team has opened his game back up to more than 6 yard headers. the delightful chips, long shots, spinning off defenders and curling free kicks.
More so than his offensive language into the camera today I am happy to see the fire and talent we know Rooney has flourish at a vital stage of the season for Manchester United.
Tactically it looks like Fergie is now building the team around the 9 1/2 roaming Rooney, and its an exciting time for Man Utd fans and England fans alike.
With a talent like Rooney, teams must be built around him, if this is accomplished he is nearly unplayable.
